Valhalla Squadron was the codename applied to Borealis Norsoutha's personal fleet of battleships and battlecruisers following the Battle of Mars, led by the Joint Mobile Spaceborne Base Atlas. Because of it being led by the Atlas, their fleet insignia also bore an image of the Atlas on it. The fleet, designed to instill terror in dissidents of the Reich's New Order, was in fact tasked with locating and destroying any rebel organizations' headquarters. Moreover, Borealis used his fleet in a more personal mission to find and capture those who caused trouble.
Though Valhalla Squadron initially consisted of only six ships—the Atlas and five Warships—it earned a fearsome reputation as the personal armada of Borealis, who also had the authority to assign additional ships from other sectors as he saw fit. As of the Battle of Uranus, Valhalla Squadron had grown to include the Atlas, two battlecruisers, three Doenitz-class battleships, and thirty-three Reich Warships—representing the largest fleet of warships ever gathered in the history of the galaxy.
Composition[]
About half a dozen or so Reich-class Warships comprised Valhalla Squadron at any one time, while Borealis or the fleet's admiral could reassign ships from other fleets to Valhalla Squadron whenever needed. Likewise, ships assigned to Death Squadron could be sent off from the main fleet on reconnaissance missions when appropriate.
The centerpiece of Valhalla Squadron was Borealis' flagship, the Joint Mobile Spaceborne Ship Atlas, while a number of smaller vessels routinely acted as support ships. Together, Valhalla Squadron was the most powerful assemblage of warships in human history.
Famed units attached to the fleet included Wilhelm Goering's 181st Reich Fighter Wing, Major General Dimitri Topolov's Seasons Force, the Stuka E-11 dive bomber squadron, the Messerschmitt T-55 starfighter squadron, SS-Oberst-Gruppenfuhrer Borealis Norsoutha's SS-Heeresgruppe Harmony (which includes the Waffen-SS First Army), elements of SS-Obergruppenfuhrer Paul Goering's Ostlegionen and the Wehrmacht's Westlegionen, and elements of SS-Obersturmfuhrer Celestia's SS-Equestrianlegionen.
Trivia[]
- Valhalla Squadron, including the Atlas, were based on Death Squadron and the Executor.
